Welcome to the Whitfords Volunteer Sea Rescue Group (Inc.) web site.

Who are we?

The Whitfords Volunteer Sea Rescue Group Inc. (WVSRG) has been in operation in the local area for more than 40 years, serving the local boating community by providing a 24 hour support base, assistance and educational facilities for the public in the Northern suburbs of Perth.

WVSRG Rescue Boats

Whitfords Volunteer Sea Rescue Group is the largest and one of the busiest volunteer sea rescue group in Western Australia, performing approximately 300 rescues each year.

Whitfords Volunteer Sea Rescue Group is one of 37 Marine Rescue groups gazzetted under DFES to provide marine rescue services across Western Australia.

The Group is a registered charity and Public Benevolent Institution with “Not for Profit” and “Deductible Gift Recipient” status, so you can be assured that every dollar donated goes into maintaining and improving our services and equipment. We do need public support and sponsorship of our efforts to provide a community service.

How can we help you?

What would you do if your boat broke down 10 miles out to sea and it’s 2.30am? Call VJ6LQ. Besides our fully equipped operations centre, we also run “home base” stations from members' homes, so that if you need to call for help, we will respond. Our rostered skipper and crew will man the rescue craft and come to your aid immediately. We provide this service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so you can take comfort in the knowledge that you are in safe hands with Whitfords Sea Rescue.

We can teach you about boating and broaden your skills
